Poetry Potters

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen
"

We craft...........................................................................

"

Poetry Potters

A thought is turned,

like peaty earth

for planting.

Gnarled, worked hands

grasp conspicuous concepts,

and dig deep Mariana trenches

below oceanic waves

of notorious notions.

Mixed seed spores

rain down,

filling furrowed brow

with the nourishment

of cognitive inquiry,

intuition, perception,

emotion, constructs,

reason and memories.

The polished palette-knife

scrapes colours carefully

to build upon the canvas,

and puttied fingers

mould and tease

and throw clay words,

until fired hard and glazed,

they become our art.

My green thumb appreciates this! ... and I love the reference to the "peaty earth". You craft words into art form, John, and I am one happier reader because of it!

Art in any form creates, replenishes, fulfills. Blessed are those endowed with the gift of words for they hold the power to change the world for better, leave a legacy for the generations.

Indeed Ron. Thanks.
what a wonderfully told tribute .. i am drawn to the flow from hands and "peaty earth" ..to seeds and thoughts and our themes done over and over ..with new perspectives and colors that do seem brand new ..i like this one a lot .. if i may say so... it makes even me feel appreciated .. great job says i!

Well, have a long and complicated story and started it as an autobiography on Bebo but got writer's block/memory fogging. People liked it though and kept asking for the next chapter! fools.. more..
