Love's Parting Chill

Love's Parting Chill

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen
"

So cold.

"

Love's Parting Chill

In the shadows

of a pale descending sun

I watch as the cloak

of darkness

begins to envelope the earth.

I did enjoy the warmth

of love

in its truest form

upon my skin;

but now chilly clouds

scurry across the moon's beams

as though to deny

me any light.

A shiver convulses me

to my core,

as the bitterness

of life without you

dawns,

and the cold,

heartless, permafrost

of sadness

invades my bones.

Thank you for saying so and for a lovely review.
The perfect feeling when someone is leaving you. Just great John....

Thank you Divya!
It can be a cold, cruel world without the one we love standing beside us and you described that perfectly here. Especially the closing lines,
"heartless, permafrost of sadness invades my bones" yeesh, what a chilling feel. Nicely done

About
Well, have a long and complicated story and started it as an autobiography on Bebo but got writer's block/memory fogging. People liked it though and kept asking for the next chapter! fools.. more..
