Sharp Relief

Sharp Relief

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen
"

Blind panic or deep misery....................................................

"

Sharp Relief

Let the clarity

of the Gillette

razor score my flesh,

as I retreat from this

brutal pain.

The quick, deep, slashing shock

may reawaken me

as I slit my own flesh;

my life blood oozing

from open wounds.

Slowly,

I slip away,

into that quiet sanctuary,

where there are no

nagging, doubtful voices.

And I reach gratefully,

peaceful at last,

for the safety and warmth,

of my final breath.

Ohhhh...Does one have to do this to escape the brutal agony of spiritual pain? I guess, there are many unfortunate souls who are so deeply afflicted. You express their pain so profoundly here. This poem was hair raising for me, John.

About
Well, have a long and complicated story and started it as an autobiography on Bebo but got writer's block/memory fogging. People liked it though and kept asking for the next chapter! fools.. more..
