Agnus Dei

Agnus Dei

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen
"

Belief is such a closed shop.

"

Agnus Dei

Lambs to the slaughter

are those corralled

by preachers

into righteous books.

Those taught and cajoled,

brow-beaten and threatened

with evisceration,

or indeed shown the gates of hell

in order to secure devotion.

Those given meeker sermons

are indeed at as great a risk

as those bludgeoned with

the holy bible

or the, equally holly, qur'an.

For such insidious inculcation

infiltrates the stoutest

of souls, brainwashing

them of rational thought

and leaving the arts of science

and the humanities

a much weakened reasoning.

Your words are powerful and shake the system. Indeed all are at risk...

Those given meeker sermons
are indeed at as great a risk
as those bludgeoned with
the holy bible
or the, equally holly, qur'an.

So true...with this slow conditioning have flourished many terror camps. Sometimes I feel no one born of a man should be allowed to stand on the podium and preach.

About
Well, have a long and complicated story and started it as an autobiography on Bebo but got writer's block/memory fogging. People liked it though and kept asking for the next chapter! fools.. more..
