Passion-My Burden

Passion-My Burden

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen
"

Who am I?

"

Passion-My Burden

Though gently I seek to tread

my inner rage has wings.

Like the Sparrowhawk in flight,

soars with majestic grace

then looks down upon the earth,

seeing each movement

of small creatures,

and punishes their

innocent transgressions,

with swift and merciless ease.

I too soar and then plummet

in eruptions of passion and fury.

I too inflict incisive slashes

with my talon of a pen,

But am I hawk or dove?

Do I lead with the intimacy of love's

gentle persuasion,

or with the relish of a ravenous raptor,

plucking the feathers from my victims

before tearing the flesh from their

blameless bones?

The inner beast is truly majestic. It spares no one and renders justice as seen fit, by its own measures. I also read sorrow and regret for such soul destroying rage. Hawk or dove? I'd say you are both, in equal measures. So its a constant battle.

About
Well, have a long and complicated story and started it as an autobiography on Bebo but got writer's block/memory fogging. People liked it though and kept asking for the next chapter! fools.. more..
