Mood Music

Mood Music

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen
"

Just Listen

"

Mood Music

Do you ever feel in the mood

for music?

If I listen to my heart

what will I hear?

Rod Stewart

singing 'Sailing',

or perhaps

the Carpenters

with their gentle,

harmonic, enduring melody

'We've Just Begun'?

Or 'Je t'aime... moi non plus',

with the dulcet sexy tones of

Serge Gainsbourg

and Jane Birkin

making love,

long and slow and sensually?

Or Barry White,

Isaac Hayes or Marvin Gaye,

whose silk smooth soul

left many gasping

for air.

Or Adele's 'Make

You Feel My Love'

in her soulful, bluesy, folksy

contralto range.

Or even James Blunt's 'Beautiful'

yearning vocals.

Or John Lennon's immortal 'Imagine'.

Or Bryan Ferry's elegant, seductive croon

of 'A Fool for Love'

So if you feel in the mood for music,

Just let that mood take you.

i am almost always in the mood for music...it is what has driven me through life..."we've only just begun" we played at my first wedding as we were walking out of the church---
always some inference with each song i hear...i really like this poem, and relate...often when i listen, it's not for background , i just sit and really pay attention to what i hear.

Yes I get this Jacob. Each memory born of a set of chords. Many thanks.

About
Well, have a long and complicated story and started it as an autobiography on Bebo but got writer's block/memory fogging. People liked it though and kept asking for the next chapter! fools.. more..
