Sometimes we don't know or see the person we are with.

If You Looked

If you looked beyond my face

you would see the blemishes

and blue bruises upon my skin.

If you looked beyond my hazel eyes

you would see the fractured fissures

of my heart.

If you looked beyond my willing lips

you would see the desperate dark pain

within my soul.

If you looked at me,

really looked at me

you might even see me!

This piece I can feel all the emotions that built to these words, from hope to plea to frustration, the list goes on. I think that sometimes, we, or they, become a habit, and like most habits, not noticed as habits. Sometimes, it is the saddest feeling of all to be looked through, by once adoring eyes.
