Where are the green fields

The subjective speed of time accelerates in direct proportion to the subjective age, that is, the time from when we started accumalating memories. Its a fascinating but real mental phenomena. There is a book on it by an ageing specialist.

Ok that is an interesting theory and I can understand why it might make sense. It doesn't change the fact that summers were more settled and sunny back then. Does this process continue to gather speed as people reach their eighties and nineties?

The book on Middle Age is by author David Bainbridge. It says that the subjective acceleration of life in middle age (after 40) is a remarkably consistent phenomena that needs to be researched more. Not sure about it continuing into the eighties and nineties.

I agree with you about the un-hurried summers of childhood and youth.
