Dreich Dawn

Dreich Dawn

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen
"

It's not Irma but it is certainly lacking cheer this morning.

"

Dreich Dawn

Dark clouds, foreboding,

scurry across the dawn skies,

summer left behind.

Storm Aileen is no Irma you're right John but when the Sun has been gone for so long dank sustained dankness weighs heavily on people like us who rarely see it anyway!
The feeling of the short damp nights is wrapped all around this one.

Love that word, both the wife and ma in law use it along with a bunch of other Ayrshire words that I think they make up as they go along
