Moth to Your Flame

Moth to Your Flame

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen
"

Sometimes the draw is so divine.

"

Moth to Your Flame

I flit,

I hover

close to the light.

Its brilliance,

its radiating heat

draws me to indulge.

I move closer, farther,

in and out

avoiding the singe

of well worn wings.

Those who see my

nocturnal dance

are left to wonder

what I gain from it,

and why I do it.
