Blood Red RainA Poem by John Alexander McFadyenhttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SiroccoI stand and stare across the sea where a spring sirocco wind, having grazed hot African sands, scoops up the waves before bleeding upon Italy. With this hurricane comes acqua alta flooding the Venetian Lagoon and, as it travels northward, cloud, fog and rain and sweltering, sultry, close weather causing headaches and humid, sleepless insomniac nights. In its wake. there lies drier lands, parched deserts of heat and dust where not much grows but boredom and shadows; a place for only camel and Bedouin. Yet in this storm two continents are as one, as the power of the cyclone touches both equally. 31/01/19 © 2019 John Alexander McFadyenAuthor's NoteReviews
