We took the blows.

the impacts,

the onslaught

and it made us

tough,

hard as rock,

tens of kilometres thick.

Superheated impact magma

formed us,

crusted over

hardened and left

a silica-rich composition.

Giant melt sheets gave relief,

shaped the landscape

from hot lava

and layered

this our world whose

occupants now rape it

of its resources

and bleed it dry.

Cheers,
Alan
