State of Duplicity

State of Duplicity

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen

"Don't believe I'm taken in by stories I have heard I just read the Daily News and swear by every word." Steely Dan, Barrytown lyrics © Universal Music Publishing Group

How sad

that shallow words

can have more edge than truth,

sadder still, others swallow them

whole.
