Futile Feuds

Futile Feuds

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen
"

Often we spin out of control when hurt.

"

Caustic soda spills

from parched mouths

as dirty washing is

hung out to bleach

in the depths of

love's winter.

And we strike back

as a bear does

when wounded,

simply in fear

of loosing our grip

on the reality

we have woven

around our own shattered

souls.

That’s okay John your writes are far better than mine, no rush.
Isn't it strange that what our hearts desire more than anything .. . our relationships with others . . . can be so fragile and full of uncertainty and are the cause of so many negative emotions. As humans we seem to struggle more in this area than others. What we want more than anything sometimes becomes the source of so much pain. The human condition is what makes us so different than all of God's other creatures.
Good poem, John . . . captures well our bi-polar lives.

Indeed you see this for what it is Tom and we do struggle so much in these areas! Many thanks.
A very powerful way of expressing hurt. I've not been there for a long time and even then didn't do it nearly as well as you. A barking dog was all I managed, not a mighty bear.

Aye indeed so Jacob, shall we buy it on-line though?
Many thank yous.
So you've been, seen and bought that t shirt too? Well, there was bound to be one or two of us around here who did.
Looking back on regretful words, I finally figured out why two ladies in particular haunt my extended regrets. One was because I undeservedly said to her, what I should have said to the other years before. But isn't it always the way, that despite our best intentions, the innocent are maimed and the guilty escape? Then we put our mouth in the correct gear, and survey the chaos it has wrought.
Superb reflection of how bitter those words are that playback their bitterness, forever reminding us that we should think, then speak.
Ps...just by some miracle those ladies stumble on this....Sorry 2010 & **k you 2014 :)

Well, have a long and complicated story and started it as an autobiography on Bebo but got writer's block/memory fogging. People liked it though and kept asking for the next chapter! fools.. more..
