A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen
"

Really, I have no clue! Avatar-'Day of the Dead Cat' Art Print by UMe Images

"

A dead cat

and a shattered dream

do not make the best bedfellows,

for they have no dignity

to speak of.

They have no measure of trust,

no understanding

of the earth as it spins

round its axis.

They have no compassion,

no hope for the future.

A dead cat and a shattered dream

cannot dance,

they cannot write poetry

or paint an impressionist

picture upon stretched canvas.

They cannot climb mountains,

nor run the London marathon.

They have no grace,

no love to offer,

in fact,

a dead cat and a shattered dream

are just that,

dead.

An interesting write John, to ponder on. Once they were amongst the living but like all things, life passes and dreams change.

We shouuld remember this when the what ifs start playing in our head and take over what is actually happening to us in the here and now. We would save so much time and effort to do other things like going on dates, meeting new peo...no, thats how it always starts, isnt it?

Indeed so. Sort of let go of what no longer matters and live. Many thanks Lorry.
it feels like the dead cat in the speaker's subconscious is the relationship that he thought had nine lives. but didn't...
feelings dead...ego dead...muse dead...
thus no words, no poem....
just a grave marker with nothing written on it.

About
Well, have a long and complicated story and started it as an autobiography on Bebo but got writer's block/memory fogging. People liked it though and kept asking for the next chapter! fools.. more..
