FollowersA Poem by John Alexander McFadyenWhy is it we let ourselves be pushed and bullied as we watch atrocities and injustice unfold?Like gloved hands, pins and needles make fingers feel too clumsy to sow with needle and thread. Through the eye one needs to see the shape of things to come, but come what may we are simply powerless, inept, sad and disinterested, or worse afraid! We defer to our 'leaders', some admittedly exert their hold with iron fists, but mostly they drag us to the precipice through our own detachment, our own selfish indifference disguised as trust. And their intransigence, their narrow minded, power and party before people attitudes, drag us to our doom. 01/02/19 © 2019 John Alexander McFadyenAuthor's NoteReviews
