Spring

Spring

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen
"

Almost!

"

Spring is in the air

buds and shoots begin to grow,

being starts again.

Frozen roots awaken now

and shake free their weary limbs.

Birds begin to build,

straw and mould and leaf and grass

making up their nests.

Now in search of mates to choose

to fertilise renewal.

Sun offers its heat,

giving life to precious soil,

hibernation ends.

Mammals venture from their sets,

leave their foxholes, lairs and dens.

As the warmth returns

man removes his winter coat

glad to see blue sky.

and leaves his isolation

to walk amongst fields of rye.

A look at nature's annual spring ritual here. The poet gives us a series of word pictures depicting various aspects of the natural world as it emerges from the cold and isolation of winter. It helps us to remember that life ever renews itself, despite its apparent absence. Well done.

Thank you so much Patricia.
I too love Spring. This weekend we turn our clocks ahead one hour. Perhaps our silly was of pushing the season along. I like the way you've brought forth so many of the elements that are so much a part of Spring.

Take care - Dave

Spring is my favourite season. A time of rebirth and optimism. You have captured that so well John with this poetic offering. Just around the corner.

About
Well, have a long and complicated story and started it as an autobiography on Bebo but got writer's block/memory fogging. People liked it though and kept asking for the next chapter! fools.. more..
