Life On The Ocean TopA Poem by John Alexander McFadyenA swashbuckling we go!Shiver me timbers! I swears I spies Captain Jack, tar upon his coat smeared to keep him dry as crashing bows swamp the deck deep with salty brine, and he so nimble scales the ropes, like a monkey with a scalded tail, to reef the mainsail and keep this sturdy, stout ship running close to wind. Good old Captain Jack is the finest seafarer I have ever known. Seems he has no fear when he is drinking whisky or a tot of rum. And when the Spanish tried to overhaul his craft, sank them everyone. But on dry land our fearless Captain of the waves feels too much at sea! 05/03/19 © 2019 John Alexander McFadyenAuthor's NoteReviews
