In The Eyes

In The Eyes

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen
"

We see it when we look.

"

A look that says it all.

Warmth as we fall

into one another's space

and time and worlds.

Carefully prying,

testing.

Enter it as strangers seeking

longingly to explore

the attraction that we feel

from across the room;

or even across the ocean.

That heart beat second

and sudden deep breath

which grabs our attention.

Time simply slips,

like wet soap

from our grasp

so why deny,

why hold back,

when we might

taste the delights

we both have to offer,

instead of merely

wondering.

Yes I believe ya. It is what Darwin saw lol!
Eyes are the windows to the soul, and always searching for soul mates! " Warmth as we fall into one another's space..." that is such a lovely sensation, we all long forever for that feeling.

Makes me think of how shy my man
was we were friends and I helped him open
up and he wasn't shy he's as sweet and wild
as me but his shyness was so adorable.

Thank you for sharing

This poem reminds me of youth club dances and the school Christmas party where from the other side of the room you would see the guys drooling, but not having sufficient nerve to cross the dance floor. All the while us girls chit chatted away wondering whether we would be lucky enough to get a dance. Thanks for that nostalgic trip John.

Twas an amalgum of several situations with a dolop of poetic licence. Thank you for reading WR
Who has not felt that glance or the room empty as the soul you recognize in hormone or perhaps you made a certain agreement with in the previous realm...In the Akashic Records perhaps to meet at this exact time place and energy state for whatever reason...Is it in the eyes? Maybe...but I think in most circumstances it almost feels a part of the entire experience... circling as a vortex into its energy field where you are pulled. Very romantic lines and well run from beginning to end...perhaps written in a state of Hypnagogia (haha..had to throw one back) where we enter the subconscious treasure chest and put it all together in this exact manner..poetic to the marrow. Well done!

Ah those hallucinations as we drop off are as good as those when we awaken for some. Many thanks P

Yes they are... A pleasure as well. Thank you John.
this makes me think of a few relationships i had that started out like this....
the glances, the premonitions, the flirting...trying to get the courage to cross the room.
never know what can happen unless you try.

About
Well, have a long and complicated story and started it as an autobiography on Bebo but got writer's block/memory fogging. People liked it though and kept asking for the next chapter! fools.. more..
