Ten More

Ten More

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen
"

Senyru Season.

"

Reflections

I sit by the lake,

it doesn't matter which one

they all have magic.

27/03/19

On The Bank

The fish aren't biting

but what the heck do I care

as I sit and dream.

27/03/19

Getting There

A ploughed field's furrows

now begin to spring to life

as the winter ends.

27/03/19

Woodland Joy

Give me a forest,

a trail that leads to nowhere

but back to nature.

27/03/19

Leveller

Oh how nature burns

in the soul of all mankind

as it humbles us.

27/03/19

Miniscule Man

I am quite humbled

by all the earth's creations

that I feel so small.

27/03/19

Uplifting

The warmth of the sun

brings a joy to every breast

as we breathe the spring.

27/03/19

Fragile Nature

Blossoms hang so frail,

their beauty never denied

as they falls so fast.

27/03/19

Crows

The carrion falls

and black cloaked hoods and sharp beaks

peck a ready meal.

27/03/19

Days Of Summer

A peckish picnic

laid down upon a plaid rug,

summer time is here!

Extraordinary. I love this as I am doing something similar but not with such a strict structure and therefore nowhere near as elegant.

Thank you Ken. Simply sticking to the senryu format here with the odd haiku thrown in.
Ten more to savour. Packed full of imagery, each one a gem in its own right. On The Bank, is the best in my opinion.

Thank you Chris. Can't wait for that warmer weather to kick in and stay a while.

I think we all feel the same about that.
Beautiful haikus of the soul, of nature, a tender Byronic heart, this one is for me, motherfucka, loved this

Many thanks for reading. These are senryu, a Japenese poem with a syllable count of 5-7-5.

About
Well, have a long and complicated story and started it as an autobiography on Bebo but got writer's block/memory fogging. People liked it though and kept asking for the next chapter! fools.. more..
