If I FallA Poem by John Alexander McFadyenSometimes, just sometimes.......................................................................If I fall on
my dirk as I sleep do not weep, do not be
unhappy, for my soul
will be at rest. There in the
silence of that dark
blanket, I will curl
up in foetal innocence
and vulnerability, at peace at
last. I will dream
soundly and drink deeply of the calm in a place I
am sated. For I
searched amongst the
clouds for
happiness on earth where none
could be found. I reached
out to the stars hoping that
moonbeams would warm
me. But I was
left naked, stripped of
all ambition. And thus I fell hard to earth. Many times I lay upon
barren soil, deprived of all
sustenance, and was simply left to die, to wither upon the
vine of time. And so now
is my moment and I choose
it. I choose to
go. 04/04/19 © 2019 John Alexander McFadyenAuthor's NoteReviews

People liked it though and kept asking for the next chapter! fools.. more.. |
