Washed Away

Washed Away

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen
"

Funny how things that really mattered can end up meaningless.

"

Love fades

but not like blue jeans,

because love fades

to grey and is gone.

You are right John. Old pair of jeans, last forever. Love become wishy-washy. Good wisdom shared my friend.

Cheers, back to you my friend.
John, I can only suggest you don't mix your darks with whites! Seriously, an interesting poem of distinctions. The world loves their jeans even though they do fade (in fact we love them all the more for it). . . but the world has trouble loving each other as we love our jeans. And, really . . . what truly matters?!

Jeans are always safer when it comes to love. Cheers.
Small poem reflecting a somber truth. Jeans fade, but at least they're still there. When love goes, it goes.

Indeed so WR. many thanks.
This had me singing 'blue jeans' before I saw the video posted in the Author's note. It is simple yet powerful, sad... but I agree also with Susan's comments - if it fades into grey and goes away, it mustn't have been strong enough. Perhaps.

Indeed I agree. Many thanks LK
Brevity at its best. There is so much unsaid here in this short but very meaningful write.

makes me think of Cat Stevens "Oh very young"

"like a dad's denim jeans, faded blue"

this has lots said that isn't said.

About
Well, have a long and complicated story and started it as an autobiography on Bebo but got writer's block/memory fogging. People liked it though and kept asking for the next chapter! fools.. more..
