Six DaysA Poem by John Alexander McFadyenDarwin wins every time.Do not
entreat me, I beseech
you, for I am no
traitor to the crown
of thorns. Satan sank
his bitter poison into
me with just
one bite. The flesh of
that apple was never
crisp enough, nor sweet
enough to survive such
decomposition as the earth
has wrought upon such weak
sin- stained
human souls. And every
man's stomach groans with
the weight of that
bitter fruit. Lead us not unto
temptation for the days
are short and the
putrid stink of the
Devil's breath hangs upon
sullied stars. So let us
stand back, far back
from the mountain, look up to
the skies, see past the
clouds of blind faith and hope. See them for what
they are, the lies of errant
priests, and simply admire
creation. 07/04/19 © 2019 John Alexander McFadyenAuthor's NoteReviews
