Are We Dancers?

Are We Dancers?

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen
"

It is time!

"

I see the blood of all the little children

and I yearn for their young lives to be saved,

why allow those innocent souls to starve

why let their homes and their lives be so damned?

Are we still so unsophisticated

that the bullet and the bomb speaks for us,

and blockades cause malnutrition to kids?

Now is the time for us to make a fuss.

Ordinary citizens of the world

need to stand against this sea of sorrows,

stop the destruction and the selfish greed,

demand all people defend tomorrows.

For this planet bears witness to it all

and from this sorry earth we will all fall!

Wow this is great work. I assume you also notice that the world we live in today is doomed and I'm afraid there won't be a home for the next generation. "From this sorry earth we will all fall" I love this line.

Thank you very much Zipho. We will all indeed fall, death is the only real certainty.
So applicable to the current times. I can't imagine being on the position of those victims of terrorism and bombing. I took the context of Dancers as too literal, that imagine we're doing the wrongs steps and rhythm. Thanm you for sharing your work.

Beautiful, when will we care for souls more than our own comfort?

I wish Cherrie everyone did. We would have arrived in eutopia. Many thanks.
Great sentiment, John, how can we have billionaires and famine and drought and drug companies earning millions and still cholera is king, we are definitely not human, ever seen the irony of a homeless person sleeping in the doorway of an empty building, always a good read,

No but I will be voting for his sister in the EU elections!
"There will be wars and rumors of wars . . . " There are no 'angels of our better natures' . . . we have but one nature . . . the nature to destroy what we do not understand, what we fear, what we show our contempt for . . . what is different from us. And we often are this without a passing thought, without a moment's hesitation . . . all because of our ignorance of how it really should be, of our indifference to the pain of others. Joe Stalin said: We mourn the death of one man and ignore the death of millions (paraphrased). Even hideous old uncle Joe understood the evil that is man. Thanks for listening.

Listening you have my ear as I hate such injustice and hypocracy. Thanks for caring Tom!
A touching and moving write about the terrible state of play in parts of our planet. A very compassionate reflection. I enjoyed your lines and the thoughts expressed.

Well, have a long and complicated story and started it as an autobiography on Bebo but got writer's block/memory fogging. People liked it though and kept asking for the next chapter! fools.. more..
