Last Breath

Last Breath

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen
"

A true tale [https://www.lastbreathdoc.co.uk/screenings]

"

Saturation point

three hundred feet

down

in the cold North Sea.

Oil platform performance

disrupted,

cables cut,

lifeline gone

back to black.

Oxygen oozing

away,

alone

making peace

with his God

on a shelf.

Frantic

team action

to mount

the recovery

of a corpse.

Dragged dead

into the belly

of the bell,

the kiss of life

awakens

the submariner

again.

All action this one John. Nothing short of a miracle that the diver survived. What an ordeal for him and the rescue team. Penned perfectly.

Yes I love stories like that, so inspiring. A miracle really. Many thanks Chris.
A tragic tale reminds me of those submarine disasters. As always true poetry in form John.

Cheers Andrew. You indulge me this night afore bed.
into the blackness, the cold death in the polluted sea...
can feel the pull of this one.
