The Sex Game

The Sex Game

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen
"

Meaning is often obscure when emotion is involved.

"

Slow

the cold

of lonely

as ice solidifies

across lips

and inverted

hope

sits far

from icy,

slippery finger tips.

A wayward glance

now a stare

tells your heart

you must

beware!

Do not fall,

do not dare

to part

with love.

For in the depth

beneath the waves,

lies lies,

where man and woman

cannot reside

until they decide

the truth of

their fates

here on this earth.

When we allow passion to control us. We will join a hurricane of emotions. I liked the passion in the words and thank you John for sharing the amazing poetry.

Thank you Coyote John
Far more than a game, isn't it? There should only be winners, no losers, but if a wayward glance turns into more than it should, trust goes out the window. Then there are only losers. Nicely written, John. Lydi**

Indeed so Lydi, Many thanks and hoping that bad old wolf blows himself out.
What a powerfully moving, depthful write. There is love that should be warm and light, and yet there are other colder passages it too often travels.

Thank you Craig. I guess 'love' has many guises and many phases.
John,
An interesting dive into the darker depths of the human soul. As men . . . especially as young men, we believed that sex was the answer . . . the witness of our flesh told the whole story. Hormones raged, even against our better instincts . . . love was a c**k-eyed mistress we didn't understand because sex wore a disguise . . . looking like the real thing. At the same time our loneliness craved the flesh, our hearts craved love. Oh, what madness dwelt within these young bodies that we were.

Sometimes we don’t know the truth or trust what’s presented as truth. Still, your message resonates in the icy confines of loneliness, which I’ve experienced firsthand. Excellent write, sir.

Yes loneliness is a destructive force indeed R. E. Many thanks for stopping by.
A brilliant write John, strong in presence, almost giving commands in its wisdom not to venture there. One of your best of the best. I wonder if she was one of those aussiepodeans

Ha you made it though!
Excellent arrangement of words and images.
But..
I say..
take a hard look at the who and if the bell sounds, leap in the fire.
Which in my case has a 50/50 chance of success.
