A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen
"

Connected Haiku/senyru

Enjoyable Chore

Tending the garden

as spring brings the plants to life

is such a pleasure.

Hard Earned

The pleasure is mine

as I sit on my mown lawn

a cool drink in hand.

Pacing Myself

I have it in hand,

regular pruning and care

keeps the task simple.

They are and yet we often take them and nature for granted. Many thank yous for stopping by Dave.
the bulk of my life was in a concrete garden so I never really had much experience in this realm I love gardens and nature but I have to journey to find it there is a trail 6 blocks from my house that runs along the river I visit often in the wee hours when I can be alone and soak it in. But I can imagine the source of pride one would get from enjoying your own creation.

One day, I will have time to create a garden. My grandfather loved his garden. Thank you John for sharing the wonderful poetry.

You are welcome John.
I wonder sometimes what life would be like without a garden. I think I would find it difficult. Pleasure is what you get and you have mentioned that in two of your three connected haiku/senryu. Yes pleasure is what you get from tending the garden, then sitting back and admiring the fruits of your hard work. Ah the scent of newly mown grass, that is special. Nicely penned John.

You too Chris.
nothing like the smell and look of a freshly mowed lawn....
my landlord just mowed my yard and the neighboring yards...looks good...
i have no green thumb but can always appreciate a pretty garden.

Well, have a long and complicated story and started it as an autobiography on Bebo but got writer's block/memory fogging. People liked it though and kept asking for the next chapter! fools.. more..
