Peach

Peach

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen
"

As it says on the tin!

"

Sometimes,

just sometimes,

I seek out

the flavour of peach.

It smells so fresh

and like no other fruit,

when I bite into

that velvet covered flesh,

a moments resistance

simply gives way,

exploding with juicy,

fragrant flavour

down my chin.

I like the word peach and actually saying it, i never tasted a peach in my entire life. I remember a scene in a movie that's about a peach and this poem resonated that scene in my mind -- a feeling of loneliness and sorrow and frustration, that happened after a moment of sweetness and joy in a relationship that is not conforming to the society. Such a sweet poem. I'm sorry for this catharsis.

Why thank you Tom, and I have now wiped my chin thanks to your wise council!
Peaches are delicious but only when they are completely ripened. Nothing nice about biting into a peach that hasn:t reached that point. Your descriptive write John is positively scrumptious. Reminds me of visiting a great uncle years ago. He had a peach tree in his garden and a grape vine.

I do so agree Chris, ripe is best. Sounds like a garden to be in at your great uncle's. Many thanks.
I remember my grandmother cutting them up and making peach cobbler. Whenever her back was turned, I always stole a slice. I think about it every time I bite into one...so good, John!

Thank you Coyote John for reading and making comment.
Love is like sugar we lust after, somewhat insatiable, a craving we need continuously no matter the fruit!

Well, have a long and complicated story and started it as an autobiography on Bebo but got writer's block/memory fogging. People liked it though and kept asking for the next chapter! fools.. more..
