A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen
"

Sedoka

"

Why oh why oh why

do you insist on breaking

the true heart that breaks for you?

I do not insist

for your heart must stand alone,

mine belongs to another.

Aye all too many times Tom, Many thank yous always.
I'm going to take this format out for a walk, I love this well crafted Sedoka.
The title and photo a great combo. It shouts read me. There are those willing to hang their heart on a hope, knowing the outcome in advance. Brave or foolish maybe both. But it's hard to resist that soul willing to love.

Thanks Cherrie. I agree there are those either brave or naive enough to do so.
title hooked me, John! it has taken me 5 years to get haiku and senryu firmly established in me noodle .. now you throw the sedoka our way from time to time and so I plod along .. looking it up for another 5 years until I have that one down ;}
great job with it says i .. love the two perspectives .. and I can relate to being both ... the observation is so simple, real to life and has tons of emotional power whichever "speaker" readers relate to ..first read this morning for me .. a fine start to me day!

Happy to hear that!
we can only make so much of an advancement toward someone, but if there is no reciprocation, sooner or later our heart will find another...and perhaps that person will realize too late.

Well, have a long and complicated story and started it as an autobiography on Bebo but got writer's block/memory fogging. People liked it though and kept asking for the next chapter! fools.. more..
