Extinction Rebellion

Extinction Rebellion

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen
"

Extinction Rebellion is a socio-political movement which uses nonviolent resistance to protest against climate breakdown, biodiversity loss, and the risk of human extinction and ecological collapse.

"

Their audacity had the Commons

staring in disbelief,

bared breasts and bared chests

in the gallery,

feet super-glued to the furniture

for extra hold on the attention

of MPs, Ministers,

the press, the viewing public

and the police.

There was mild shock,

mild wonderment, awe,

confusion and  a degree

of admiration.

The climate was tense

as was their protest

and their cause.

Now they intend

to block London's

rush hour streets to

stop climate change!

Peaceful protest and for a worthwhile cause. It's our generation that's well and truly cocked things up (sorry if I am going to offend some prude with that). I mean just look at plastics for a starter before you start going down the list. These young people are right on it.

Good on them, some folk are just more concerned about the environment than those who sit back and want someone else to do it for them.

Agreed Andrew. I only wish I was doing more but hey ho everything is Londoncentric! Many thanks.
Power to the people, John, seems to be soon as you get elected you turn deaf, they made the News, did they actually make a difference, unfortunately not, but next time … well,

oh? and what's worse...a bit of nudity...the human body is beautiful...or would we rather have violent protests..cars turned over, things burned in the streets?
