Day Time Blues

Day Time Blues

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen
"

Days can be long and uninspiring.

"

Sometimes

I just don't

give a f**k.

My soul is empty,

compressed

until void of air

and lifeblood,

and I feel

so vacantly vacuous

inside.

I have a hollow

feel in my belly

weighed down

with stones of lead

that leave me

retching on the side

of being violently sick.

I sit, listless,

gazing out the window

without purpose,

lacking direction.

I have no motivation,

little cause,

and thus I fill my day

with torpid inertia

allowing sand

to drip,

blood red

through bored

bony fingers,

until the next line

comes to me

and my arteries

impulsively awaken

to pulse

as my heart

beats again.

Sometimes,

on some days,

on days just like this,

I just don't

give a f**k,

but only

sometimes.

Indeed I wonder how you can go from such wonderful poems of morning and evening to such emptiness of soul. Yet, your talent shows just as much . . . but I prefer the John McFadyen who paints a joyful scene. Hope you feel better soon my friend!

Great motivational speech, just spent six months doing exactly that you capture the crushing moments of ennui and bone crushing boredom perfectly, not even Bargain Hunt can raise a smile, (what the f**k you buying that s**t for, )

You wish bro!
"vacantly vacuous" wow, i hear ya on that one, John.
but as Neil Diamond sang..."thank the lord for the nighttime, forget the day"
the blues are washed away late at night...or at least we repel them as we write them off and away.

Well, have a long and complicated story and started it as an autobiography on Bebo but got writer's block/memory fogging. People liked it though and kept asking for the next chapter! fools.. more..
