Introspection

Introspection

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen
"

A difficult thing to do!

"

Searching

deep inside

is not an easy task.

Much simpler

to look out the window

of the soul

and curse at what

the weather brings,

rather than

dress appropriately.

Searching deep inside is something that seems to turn up in my writing but perhaps we might not like what we find. I think most of us have a great capacity for self deception. It's always nice and often a surprise when someone says something nice about us so it's something we don't do ourselves enough. I like poems that make you pause for thought John.
All the best.

Wow a very arty place then.
So true. Blaming others for the wrongs is so easy, but it’s being conscious of one’s own doing which takes strength.
Well written.

Thank you so much Fairy K!
A very meaningful piece. Takes bravery to cast your eye on the inside. You don't always like what you see. Whenever I look out the window, I can find a little bit of beauty, even on the dullest and rainiest of days.
