The Chill

The Chill

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen
"

As it says on the tin!

"

Feel the colour black

as it blankets you in dark,

shutting out the light.

Thank you Kay.
When I read this earlier it made me think of what you had said on my autumn poem. The oppression of certain seasons can be all-consuming--both literally and metaphorically. I feel that way about the end of winter when the sun refuses to shine.

I feel like this goes a bit deeper than that though. Something beneath the surface vying for recognition. I often appreciate the openness of your poems--you allow readers space to develop their own conception of the scene.

Lovely work, John.
