Sometimes, it could be a regretful thing to have made a big mistake while sometimes it could just be a warning against a bigger one.
But to me, I think it is better to be ready for anything that life could bring. When we have a plan '"A", let's have a plan "B". No one knows what could come up in the next second.
Better to be prepared than to regret, I think that is a way to avoid this wish the next time.
fine bit of irony in you few lines and phrases ... i am licensed to carry a concealed weapon and i do ... all the time ..simple truth is there are people who will do evil hateful things in the world .. always have been :( there will always be those who want to take .. and will do anything for it ... so horribly tragic that includes innocent lives :((( timely poem sir...social commentary well delivered ... a conundrum solved only by true and selfless love ... which we as humans do not have the capacity for .. unless we receive God's grace ..in my opinion

I was warned not to walk anywhere in Detroit and NOT to carry my camera but I had no choice but never felt at risk. Not sure I want to live in a society where ordinary citizens NEED a gun to feel protected. Perhaps we just do not understand the culture? Many thanks 'E'

Chicago is very unsafe .. like many of our larger cities across the States ... but rural areas suffe.. read moreChicago is very unsafe .. like many of our larger cities across the States ... but rural areas suffer as well...we can make our communities safer ... and feel secure ... we can be pro-active ..I started and lead a Neighborhood Watch and in just our first year .. worked with the Sheriffs and County to stop the flow of meth on one of our Lanes, that traffic has dropped to 0 and the pusher has moved out as well as doing a bit of time ...we put up road signs, caught poachers, slowed down speeding traffic etc etc ..and grew from 8 to over 70 members .. but as long as i can remain proficient with a firearm ... i still will carry .. evil comes in many forms eh!? mental illness gone off ... greed and lust embedded in dark souls ... a complex issue ...but we don't have to sit by and suffer it .. i believe there is always a way ;)

FBI statistics show that more people are killed with clubs and bare hands than with guns .. and then.. read moreFBI statistics show that more people are killed with clubs and bare hands than with guns .. and then there are bombs and vehicles ... we have laws prohibiting gun ownership for felons, mental illness, drug addiction, dishonorable discharge from our Armed Services, domestic violence ... people illegally in the US..and a few others ...the problem is that these people do not obey the law ..firearm confiscation doesn't come close to a solution .. it only takes weapons from law abiding citizens ... :{ ..good thing you have the good sense not to own a gun John ... grave responsibility comes with it ... mass murder makes for loud press .. but here in America, with the exception of the last few years, has supported through tax dollars the death of an average of 1 million babies every year .. with such callousness allowed and condoned its no wonder life itself is belittled :((

oh my goodness .. how lucky you are :) i stop at our micro brewery once a month or so and on my last.. read moreoh my goodness .. how lucky you are :) i stop at our micro brewery once a month or so and on my last visit i had "Bourbon Barrel Blacker 'n Ale" .. 6.8 abv :))))))))))))))) just had to take a jug of it home with me ... i go on beer fasts now and again as well .. but 4 weeks is a long time .. having the goal of loosing weight has to help ... what fun your trip to Belgian must have been ... good on ya man!! peace and joy! :)
Well, have a long and complicated story and started it as an autobiography on Bebo but got writer's block/memory fogging. People liked it though and kept asking for the next chapter! fools.. more..
