The Final Chapter

The Final Chapter

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen
"

We must finally accept our fate.

"

On the edge

of darkness

where I now reside,

a place

where even

dragons hide

from god,

a place where

there's little

hope for man

as the devil

roams free

to make his plan

for souls.

And here

deep in the bowels

of hell

only the most

wicked

fell

from grace,

as led astray

they now must ponder

Satan's lust,

as he gathers

all the ashes,

dust from dust

of sinners.

I am told

of no redemption,

no reprieve,

as for the gates

of heaven

I now grieve

for all time,

and here in

this inferno

is my rest,

in hell's

raging belly

ends my test.

I do believe that both heaven and hell are here on earth. I have experienced them both. When I look around and see what is going on now, it would be easy to get depressed. Where there is darkness I find my own light. I burn candles, I get out in the open air. I love sitting in sunlight and make sure I do even in winter. You have to find your own light to keep sane. Your free verse is always written at a high standard John. You always have something interesting to say.

i think hell is here on earth for the most part...that after we die...if there is a heaven...sooner or later we will suffer enough to get there...some kind of purgatory in between...but there is so much hell on earth, especially nowadays...that there must be peace sooner or later.
a really thought provoking write, John,
