The Sound of Silence

The Sound of Silence

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen
"

Nature's delicate fragrance.

"

Wings beat silent song

as the hummingbird hovers,

supping up nectar.

I thought you were in the Borders of Scotland but I have rarely seen a hummingbird there!
Lovely imagery, so simple and delicate yet with the heavy notion of a slow beat of the wings. I envisioned this in slow motion. Best, Laura.

Indeed the way to see this Laura, many thanks.
This is incredibly visual. Filled with wondrous beauty. The song as well an old favourite. Who could not like Simon and Garfunkel, their partnership and lyrics. Takes me back. The lyrics of that song say so much, as does this write.
