Ending in RhymeA Poem by John Alexander McFadyenLife seems so complex here in 2019 and our values are all at sea!Filled with sorrow and broken triangles, red warning signs never heeded until all too late. There hang the stars upon a universe of mystery and yet we hit rock bottom, down to earth with a thud in grief, as we realise reality is here, is now. As we watch life, and death unfold and give more to the fun run than to the soup run. We say we care, words so cheap and easy to come by that we harvest them like mushrooms. The fungi of self serving, instantaneously gratifying blood rushes floods our crippled hearts and drags down even the whitest of white starched souls. Until we stop believing the rhetoric of unsavoury politicians and the 'in your Facebook' Google ads. Slip the knots, the ties that bind, and find the path before you stumble one last time. Where are you going to, my pretty maid, 'I'm going internet surfing Sir.' she said. 29/08/19 © 2019 John Alexander McFadyenAuthor's NoteReviews
