Take out the Trash!

Take out the Trash!

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen
"

Life is filled with inequalities and 'inhuman' behaviour yet we don't even know who we are!

"

So Mark Zuckerberg

is worth sixty-nine billion

and Banksy has made

a killing aping Parliament.

Nizam of Hyderabad

was the richest man in the world,

rats chewing up three million dollars

didn't dent his fortunes.

Juan Orlando Hernández,

president of Honduras,

traffics drugs.

Joe Giudice is losing weight

and his mind, in prison

on fraud charges,

so they are sending him home.

And Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman

denies involvement in the killing

of Jamal Khashoggi.

Meanwhile Ms Zamourka wandered

the streets of Loss Angeles,

homeless.

But there is a cosmic web in space,

a vast, mysterious structure

that links up far-flung galaxies

and adds one more piece

to the celestial jig-saw

that explains our origins.

You did a great job of describing the "TRASH" the rich, the crooked and the phonies; and my favorite line is " Meanwhile Ms. Zamourka wandered the streets of Los Angeles, HOMELESS". nice poem

Eventually cable television, video games and alternate reality will not be enough to keep the masses pacified... As I walk about town and see all of the "plugged" folks amble mindlessly about unable to take gaze away from there de-Vices sitting across the table from each other at restaurants not saying a word to each other but "checking in" to my restaurant and showing a selfie hey look at my burrito! LOL... but not actually being present at the table. these sorts of things used to get me upset even a bit angry at times. but all at once a eureka moment occurred and I realized they hate there lives so much that they choose to live in a digital one. But some day and I think soon those pacifiers are gonna start to taste bad and I wonder just what sort of reckoning is going to happen:/

Yeah, it’s pretty absurd. I still struggle to understand where Mark Zuckerberg’s money comes from. I mean I know, it’s just a very odd business. I read last week that Facebook is working on mind reading technology. WTF. I’m glad I’m not on that site.

You bring up some excellent points in this, John. We are lacking balance in wealth distribution and the carelessness of those holding the money-power is like a slap in the face to us regular folk.

That anyone in a “first-world country” can be starving or homeless is unacceptable. So much is squandered. Our ideas are often clouded by economic theory, sadly, and many believe it is social Darwinism at work when people suffer. Disturbing.

Thought-provoking poem. I appreciate your passion regarding social justice.

I have to say the Banksy artwork aping Parliament is brilliant, but the purchase price of 10 million was a joke. These geezers are richer than rich and some of them also happen to be very unsavoury when it comes to morals. Just highlights what a horrible world of inequality we live in. Great poem John.
