Beware!

Beware!

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen
"

Corvids are indeed dark creatures.

"

Ravens

are nobody's friend.

Their black feathers

tar the sky

as their hollow eyes

fix upon the ground

and they seek to

fill insatiable beaks

with garbage, rodents,

the eggs and nestlings

of other birds,

and the dead flesh

of carrion.

I'm actually really fond of crows and ravens. They are extremely intelligent creatures and can make excellent companions. Make me a bit sad they always make them out to be a bad omen.
However, the poem was very vivid. Well penned :)

Given the current political conundrum in the USA, it's hard not to see an analogy here . . . when a raven shows you what he is, believe it (as the old saying goes). There aren't any ravens dining on caviar . . . love the gritty details you inject! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Poe might disagree---but the darkness of Ravens is like the darkness being Poe's friend...
maybe our friend when Midnight is so dreary because we have memories that scavenge in our minds and hearts.
