Thank you dear Misery for your kind words. There is sometimes beauty that can be found in sadness. The more we love the deeper the sorrow but it is the love that stays with us. I wrote this very quickly and once posted I felt a bit of weight lifted from my shoulders. Love seeing your words my dear friend!

Thank you Sam. Sometimes rainy days bring on feelings of nostalgia mixed with sadness. I think what I need is someone to throw some cold water on my face and say "wake up and smell the coffee!" which I do. Great to have you stop by and leave this thoughtful review :-)

Such a sad sense of loss in your words, Dara...your choice of simile and metaphor create a sombre mood, leaving the reader feeling your loss... losing a gardener is never easy and sometimes we feel we will never find a suitable replacement... great write, my friend... sad, but well-penned...

I didn't realize how long and drawn out this process of grieving can be. Every time I put it down in writing, I file away little bits at a time. Thank you for your kind words. Hopefully the readers will understand and realize that with love can come sadness but it doesn't take away from the happy memories one stores away. As always it is great to see you :-)

No one knows how long it lasts, Dara... each of us deals with it in our own way and it really does depend on just how close we were to that someone... but you are right, the sadness does not diminish the happy memories we keep with us.... you are welcome for my words and it is always nice to visit.
