You're right--it is a fun ditty, and clever, too. How ironic that I was just now cleaning up my feeder in anticipation of their arrival.

How fun! Do you get many? I don't have a feeder yet but once in awhile they visit my flowers hanging on the porch. They are just wonderful :-)

I get a few each season, usually 3-5 what I call "loyal customers" that come to my feeder. I'm going to put another feeder out so maybe they won't fight so much. It seems one will always lay claim and then try to run the others off. I really do love to watch them.

This is such a lovely piece on the hummingbird...It's an interesting bird, flapping its wings fifty times a second which is equivalent to 34 MPH...can you imagine trying to wave our arms at that speed? :)

That is amazing. I would think they would be exhausted by the end of the day but you rarely see them sitting still.

They are complex birds that actually go into a hibernating state when not feeding or looking for food...
