Your Love

Treading softly I meandered

through the chambers

of your heart,

whispering words of love

so tenderly

letting my thoughts to you

impart.

To hear you say “I love you”  

was sweet music to my ears

erasing all the loneliness

and pain

 from all these years.

Your love provided a cushion

for my heart with every beat

and offered relief and comfort

like moss beneath

my feet.

Such gently expressed and genuine words, no side swipes at what love can be - perhaps should be. There's a sordid need to knock Romance these days, to mock those red roses around the door, etc. . How sad is that... unlike your poem which makes me smile into a dreary Monday!

Sometimes these words are enough....sometimes....making us feel those words is more important than saying it.... :)

Thank you for sharing your thoughts about this 'this thing called love' and I couldn't agree with you more :-) The amazing part about this one is I was able to feel it without meeting face to face. The words were so powerful that it transcended all space and time. Probably too good to be true and was not meant to last but the aftermath is very powerful. So nice to see your words here!
