My Life in Autumn

In the autumn of my life

I will always remember

the moments that gave me joy 

and friendships that I treasured.

I will see a little clearer

the air will seem much sweeter

the sky a little bluer

in the autumn of my life.

In the autumn of my life 

I will think of all the good times

not dwell on past mistakes  

or troubles I have seen.

I will love a little deeper

sing a little louder

forgive a whole lot better

in the autumn of my life.

In the autumn of my life  

I will know what really matters

what truly makes me happy

and accept what I can’t change.

I will embrace my friends and family

let them know how much I love them

and hold on a little longer

to the autumn of my life.

As we enter Autumn, as we age, we become more insightful, more understanding, more accepting, more appreciative of our younger days. we enhance the appreciation of all the things we did and what we still have to do in Autumn, as we age and become wise; we can look back and be thankful and still try to make things better.
