A Poem by Marilyn: being thankful for what i have.. hope, love and a dream

Marilyn Nepp Sturner, a fellow poet here on WC passéd away earlier today. May she forever be in peace and free from pain.

emotional pain has subsided
no heart aches no sighs no tears for loss
no jealousies
or sense of betrayal
calmness noW and
contentment with my lovely present
happiness is such

physical pain__ still throbbing, stinging
and at times a knife like jab
but my hope is that it too will fade and diminish
as did my past heartaches


and will be replaced with normalcy
mobility
and the freedom to FLY HIGH

tho i did not know her, it is a shared sadness when anyone passes from this life to the next ... she certainly left an impression on you, Dara ... who can ask for more in our own passing ... emmajoy reviewed and i saw it was one you had posted so thought you were posting anew .. i see this is several years past ... Marilyn seems, like most of us, to have found an outlet for her pain ... her endurance without anger and blaming is evident in her words .. i hope i can face my own death and the dying with courage, Faith and a steadfast heart ... be well dear friend ... hope to see more of you ... right here at the Cafe'

Hello Mr. E :-) It us great to see you again. Marilyn and I go way back. She was thrilled when I introduced her to the WC. You are right, her life was not an easy one as is expressed in her poetry. I, too, hope I can show the same kind of bravery when faced with such diversity. In the meantime we trudge along making the most of the good times when we can and leave a legacy of sorts even as we post here. Take care my friend!!

Thank you so much. She was as a bright light that was extinguished way too soon. How great it is that she has left us with a beautiful collection of poems to remember her by. Take care!

I loved her poetry and she was such a gracious, giving poet.

This is really sad news...WC has lost an important rib to its body.

Thank you Jacob. I know she thought very highly of you as well. I am still in a bit of shock over it. Every time I read this poem it reminds me of what her life was like. She was also a gifted artist. Her son said she went peacefully and I am thankful for that. So nice to see you here. Stay healthy and keep safe!

I recall Marilyn well. A lot of her poetry did seem to reflect pain of some sort. Hopefully she has finally found peace. RIP.

She went through quite a rough patch for many years and then her health started to decline. I did hear from her son that she went peacefully so that us s blessing. Thank you for sharing!
