Yet Shall We Rise

I am reposting this poem to offer a bit of hope amidst the darkness.

Like thunder rolling in the distance

voices merging to be heard,

anger rising in waves of resistance

from all over the world.

Rhetoric, which seeks to destroy,

bad decisions made in haste

people crying out for help

protesting too little much too late.

But in spite of the frustration,

confusion and pain

hope springs eternal

where love still reigns.

We may go down in flames fighting

for our dreams before they die

but like the phoenix we'll be born again

and from the ashes we shall rise.

This is an emotive and heartfelt poem about the current state of the world, which can be kinda depressing if we just look at the news......

Yet, I sense that you feel a stirring of hope here.......

We may go down in flames fighting
for our dreams before they die

Let's breathe some life into that and see what happens..:)

Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts about my poem. I wrote to help myself feel better but I also believe in its message.
Hope is essential for survival I think. It provides us with light to stave off the darkness of this troubled world.

Makes me wonder what it would be like if all that is happening now was happening in the 60's----I wonder if it would have taken as long for people to be protesting.
I do like this and feel it having been from the 60's and being so uncomfortable with all that is happening now.

I wonder too. It seems what are dealing with now is even more horrendous. Voices are being raised but are they being heard or making a difference because of the corruption we are seeing here at home. Only time will tell. Thank you Jacob for sharing your thoughts. Take care!
