L'Angoisse

L'Angoisse

A Poem by Patches I'm not so new anymore.
"

Anguish

"

I have tasted the wine of wanting

found it insipid, jejune

leaving longing on the palate.

I have drunk the wine of desire

it scorches the throat, sears the soul

burns to ash the heart.

I have sipped the bitter wine

of jealousy, it leaves

the sour taste of vinegar on the tongue.

I have drunk to the dregs

Vin d' Amour, stumbled blind in a

lovelorn stupor into the ditch of despair.

I have cursed thee and blessed thee

cherished and despised thee

God help me! I will forever love thee.

I like the idea of using wine in this. Sometimes you can drink your fill of something and still not be satidfied.

This is very nice. I like the whole concept of the poem, and I like te way you put it together. This poem is one of my favorites.
