For Roxane; a paean for Madonna*A Poem by Patches I'm not so new anymore. This is an answer to "Our Love will always Shine" by Magdelena and PatchesOften hast my heart composed songs of love, that have issued forth from my lips accompanied by the strings of my mandolin, to Madonna Roxane. 'tis she who owns the instrument which sends forth the lyrics of love for her from my lips.
For her love hast held me in thrall since we were children... Love hast not left me dejected Indeed it hast done wonders for my heart, this love I hold for Madonna Roxane.
Yea, her love hast made me joyful. I have no desire for gold, save for the comfort it may provide Madonna. Nor have I any desire for the lips or arms of another, for to let my thoughts, my heart stray---
wouldst be the damnation of my soul. That there is goodness in others of the same sex I do not doubt. But Madonna's love for me shines brighter than the sun of juillet*
No matter how beautiful the orb of Artemis in the clean midnight sky--- Madonna hast but to smile; be it midday or midnight those two heavenly spheres have no choice but to bow to the brightness of love's light that shines from Madonna's eyes.
*juillet= July
