The Arrow's Song

The Arrow's Song

A Poem by Patches I'm not so new anymore.
"

Song of a Hunt

"

A song in yon silvan glade I heard

soft as sea slap when waves are low.

A song of the arrow shot from my bow.

Mournful the durge

it hums in the wind, this

subdued keening of pile and spin*

Bewildering this carol of woe,

melody of death

song of the arrow.

Sad as love forsaken or a lover forsook

Song of the Arrow

Swift from my bow

as it slew a forest prince

 not so lng ago.

Pyle--- the forepart of the arrow to which the broadhead is attached

Spin--- rotation of the arrow in flight
