Desiree

Desiree

A Poem by Patches I'm not so new anymore.
"

The death watch for a deceased lover

"

Dark-eyed desire

skin like honey

golden fire

cold,

color muted

to

palest

gold.

Touch

fingers linger

sensing chill

of

winter snow.

No more

rendezvous' at midnight,

armourous trysts

in star-bright dawn.

 No more

ardent embraces

with limbs entwined

in passion's throes.

No more

smothered cries

escaping

as desire ebbs or flows.

Now a winding sheet

enshrouds her.

Desiree

cold as stone

in cold stone laid.

Into the indigo

of evening

I watch

her image

fade.

Sorrowful tale of love, delicately told. Very nicely composed ~ Rose

Hauntingly beautiful, Robert. Vivid and chilling at once. So very sad.

You do know how to paint a picture with words that convey emotions through expressions. To many times I have felt passion turn cold like this. Superb.
