Dear Pat, you cover the seasons like a plein air painting, with colors washing over a canvass of wheat and corm, apples and peaches, such vivid images come to me as if I am there with you sharing all these memories. You must be a birder, because you know the names of so many, and their sounds as well.
Love this poem...an ode to the seasons. Best, Betty

Spring seems so far off as winter sets in and starts to bite. That:s when we have to take extra special care of our avian friends who visit our gardens and bring us a little joy. Our own winter days can be hard too and that is why the season of rebirth is eagerly looked forward to. My bulbs are buried and resting. In January, they will start to peep through and Feb and March will bring uifting colour. You write so poetically dear Pat. Always a gift is your poetry.

It is always a pity to discover the decline in numbers of our avian friends. That is sad.

The blending of nature, days long spent, that need-full prayer for more, is so elegant and complete. On those rare winter days that are warm and sunny, it must be from this simple plea.
PS I love it. Anytime I can spend a moment with you amongst nature is splendid.
